The new REV. 3 KITs use 10 PROTRACK+ wheels which can ride almost any dolly track including all standard professional track, and are ALSO able to be used WITHOUT TRACK on smooth and flat surfaces such as wood floors, cement floors, pavement, blacktop, vinyl, linoleum, and even some short carpeting. This means you can just take your dolly, set it down, mark your stops, and start shooting if your somewhere with a suitably smooth and flat floor, which saves you ALOT of time during production , and the effort of hauling and setting up track. The REV. 3 KITs are also lighter, offer much stronger platform support , and are even easier to install. These are all straight track kits, and do NOT swivel. The wheel mounts are ultra low profile, so the dolly platform holds a very low profile to the track. The wheels are custom manufactured Rowe Cine PROTRACK+ dolly wheels with reinforced stainless ABEC 5 bearings.
These roll very, very smoothly and very, very quiet when used on nice professional or indie track, or clean PVC.
The wide wheels on the supplied mounts will accept between apx. 3/4" and 2 " rail.
The recommended cheap track for riding is, or 1" schedule 40 thick walled PVC rails (apx 1.33" outside diameter). The trucks will also ride beautifully on all straight professional cinema dolly tracks with 1.5" diameter rails.
The wheel mounting rails are, sturdy, strong, and lightweight fully silver satin anodized aluminum. The wheel mounts come supplied with mounting hardware and instructions to mount them to your custom dolly platform.
Mounting and standard pro track alignment are even easier and faster with the new flat top mount surface which allows for easy visual alignment through the mounting slot for perfect center to center and parallell spacing.
This new configuration also allows you to easily make a doorway dolly that wil ride professional track 24.5" center to center.
